Why I won't be voting this year
Published on May 20, 2004 By J Hayes In Current Events
For the few of you that have read some of my previous writings, you may think I'm one of the die-hard antibush people that will vote for anyone to get him out of office. Not true. Infact, I don't plan on voting at all. Ever.

Let's look at John Kerry. This is a guy that right after September 11th when Bush was at the peak of popularity, He was one of the Democrats that voted for his resolutions and the Iraq war, not because he thought it was right, because Bush was popular and he didn't want to upset stupid people that might not vote for him if he didn't follow blindly. He won't admit this then he'll be labeled even more of a flip-flopper. And have you noticed that all he does is blame everything on Bush and not really say anything on what he's going to do to fix it. This guy's keeping a low profile, and I can't blame him. If he can sit back at watch Bush fuck up on such massive levels that it will get people to vote for him even though he doesn't seem to have any ideas, good for you Johny boy!

Before I get replies saying "if your not going to vote you have no right to complain". Bullshit, and here is why. My vote will not matter, not at all. It's just a gimmick to make me feel like I'm doing something to help when there is nothing I can do to help and I don't even care enough to want to help. My reasons are.

#1: I live in Indiana, a blindly idiotic republican state that always goes with the republican. So come November, you'll see my state on your TV with a big picture of G.W. rather I vote or not.

#2: Why vote for Kerry? He hasn't done anything to proclaim what he will do to change things, just says they need to be changed. What he means is he won't cature to Bush's campain contributors', he'll cature to his own. If he get's elected don't be suprised to see a nation wide Ketchup shortage and be paying .50 cents for packets at McDonalds.

#3: Why Vote for anyone else? I could Vote for Nader, who is somewhat a fucking loon but at least he isn't part of our top 2 media owned Politcal parties. But he's gonna get oh, 5% of the vote. Wow! Sure I can go waste a couple of hours voting for a guy that has a snowflakes chance in hell of winning, just so I have the right to complain? Fuck you, I got the right to complain. We all do.

Bush has still got something like 46% of people that still support him because there completely fucking stupid. Kerry has got something like 51% of people supporting him, because there completely fucking stupid. Kerry Voters' can tell what complete fucking idiots the bush voter are, but they don't see how voting for a guy who has no real ideas or plans makes them complete fucking idiots too.

So I hope the election in November goes well for you, and I hope whatever douche you people elect does what you hope he will, even though he'll do what he wants, and find some way into getting you to believe in it.

I know what you mean when the choices are so bad. But I still reckon you should vote....one of these two guys will be affecting (almost controlling) your life for the next 4 years and you should really decide on who is the lesser of two evils....most people think of voting as a right, I see it as an obligation...we live in a democracy we owe it to democracy to vote.

Voting is rather trivial. Even at a much smaller level, such as a classroom level, my vote doesn't matter at all.

I know what you mean Gerry, but the problem is the majority of idiots, and my state is a majority, will vote poorly, and hence my vote does not matter, so no need to waste my time going up there just for shits and giggles and "bitching" rights.

We do have it bad Thomas, but so do you, and idiots in your state are just has bad, actually a little worse. Everyone in my state will vote for him cause of the fact he's republican and nothing else. Your state will vote for him cause he' s a local acting like that's something to be proud of. Just goes to show you the idiotic fucks rational people have to deal with everyday, and the ratio of rational thinkers is probably close to 50,000 to 1.
